Business Philosophy

Nicholas believes his dedication to his clients and his values truly define him. His business philosophy is centered around his two fundamental values: integrity and discipline. For him, doing the right thing is not just important—it is essential. He firmly believes in looking at the big picture and considering the long-term perspective when making financial decisions, rather than succumbing to the temptation of overpromising for short-term gains.

In an industry where media and scare tactics can sway even the most experienced professionals, Nicholas believes in minimizing risk, taking only as much risk as necessary to help meet his clients’ goals. When communicating with clients, his goal is to communicate in a clear and relatable manner, avoiding unnecessary complexity, and making complex financial concepts accessible to all.

Nicholas’s heartfelt motivation for working with individuals approaching retirement age stems from a deeply personal experience. In 2007, his father, a small business owner, fell victim to a flawed financial plan. Based on the advice of a financial advisor, he placed his complete life savings into an annuity. Unfortunately, when the market crashed in 2008, his father found himself in a difficult position, desperately needing access to his funds, but unable to retrieve them due to the annuity’s lock-in feature. His father felt his advisor had failed him by not understanding his needs or goals, and he was left burdened with exorbitant fees.

This experience fueled Nicholas’s commitment to his clients to work closely with them to understand their goals not only in the present, but throughout their retirement journey. Nicolas strives to leverage his knowledge, empathy, and attention to detail to provide personalized retirement planning designed to help protect RPOA clients from significant losses while taking their individual goals and situations into account.
